Card #1 - Empowerment (reversed) If you have drawn this card this in reverse, you are denying your own power. You are relinquishing the power over your own life. You are running from becoming who you came here to become. There is such a thing as lethal humility. The time has come to look yourself squarely in the eye and recognize the gifts you came to this life with. You are a powerful creator. If you are here on earth, there must be a good reason for it! Card #2 - Ameliorate (reversed) If you have drawn this card in reverse, instead of hope, you are feeling despair or discouragement. Instead of being filled with positive possibilities, you find yourself dwelling on negative issues. Negative thoughts will wear away at you to the point of where you may give up control of the situation and admit defeat. To remedy this, identify what is making you feel discouraged or overwhelmed and work on moving past these issues. Right now they are taking on an importance far greater than they deserve and can hold you back. This phase of your life is a test of faith, not an indication of a negative outcome. You are beginning to feel disengaged and uninspired with life or components of your life (ie. work, hobbies, relationships, personal projects, etc.). Perhaps you started out with great vision and enthusiasm, but you are now finding yourself overwhelmed by day-to-day routines that are stressful, tedious, boring, or dreary. You may find life a chore. You be feeling that you are no longer connected to the work that you do and you feel that you need to move on, or make a significant change to the way you are approaching your current career. You are most likely feeling a loss of faith in a particular situation, resulting in you waiting for a sign or a 'calling' to proceed further. You may feel like you need reassurance that you are still on the right path. Know that even if you are feeling uncertain or fatalistic about whether you will ever achieve your goals, this is just a momentary setback and you will soon see that it was an important part of your journey forward. Work on restoring your faith. Card #3 - Truth (reversed) If you have drawn this card in reverse, you are addicted to truth and knowledge. Your addiction to truth is hindering and harming you because the one unanimous truth is that as long as we are incarnated as separate beings from one another, each and every person's truth is entirely subjective. If you are the kind of person that must know the truth, then you feel unsafe when you don't know something. You have also become overly concerned with knowing what is objectively right and what is objectively wrong. Now is a good time to concern yourself with what is right for you personally and what is wrong for you personally. Consider alternative truths to your own. An open mind is the only hope we have that truth can actually find us. Card #4 - Joy (reversed) If you have drawn this card in reverse, you have been swallowed up by the negatives in your life. You have given up too much. Ask yourself this question: What is true about me today that would make my inner child self cry? We all have a tendency to lose touch with what we loved as a child. Something about the social pressures of being an adolescent and the professional pressures of young adulthood squeezes the passion out of us. We are taught that the only reason to do something is if we are somehow rewarded for it. We stop living our lives simply for the things that feel good to us. Now is the time to change this about yourself. If you cannot hold onto joy or happiness, do something beneficial for you, something that causes you to feel relief. Re-explore the things you loved to do as a child and/or try new things. Eventually the brightness of your joy will burn out the pain. Card #5 - Breaking Through Barriers If you've drawn this card, there are barriers that stand between you and what you want and now is the time to break through those barriers. The ego does not create barriers to hurt us; the ego creates barriers to keep us safe. In this circumstance you would do well to ask, what am I trying to keep myself from? If I get what I want, what bad thing does some part of me think will happen? There is always a positive reason or intention behind the existence of a negative thing. If we can figure out what positive role the negative thing in our life is playing and if we can figure out what it is trying to prevent us from experiencing, we are well along the way to breaking through the obstructions that stand between us and our truest desires and goals.
